10. Shatrughan Sinha

Sinha won the Indian general election from Patna Sahib in Bihar. He defeated another cinema celebrity Shekhar Suman. Out of a total of 552,293 votes polled, Sinha received 316,472 votes. He become a cabinet minister with the Government of India in the 13th Lok Sabha, holding two portfolios, the department of Health and Family Welfare (Jan 2003-May 2004), and the department of shipping (August 2004).[7] He is currently a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. As of May 2006, he was appointed as the head of the BJP Culture and Arts Department.


9. Monaj Tiwari

In 2009, Tiwari contested elections for the 15th Lok Sabha as a candidate for the Samajwadi Party in the Gorakhpurconstituency. He had been offered a choice of three constituencies and Zeenews reported him as saying that he was not “a political person but was concerned for the development of Poorvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.” His interest was in developing that region and he had “submitted my development proposals to industrialist Anil Ambani”.[15] He lost toAdityanath Yogi. His house in Mumbai was allegedly attacked in November 2009 by a group of people angry with remarks that they claimed he had made about Shiv Sena. Tiwari denied having made any comment on the matter, which revolved around a dispute between the Shiv Sena leader, Bal Thackeray, and the Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. In January 2011 Mid-Day reported that the BJP might invite him to join their party and that the association with him would assist their electoral efforts among North Indians. Tiwari dismissed the story as being hypothetical, although he would consider his options should an invitation emerge. He had been seen with BJP leaders at an event and had expressed admiration for Shatrughan Sinha, the BJP MP for Patna. Tiwari was among the first celebrities to make an appearance in support of Ramdev’s hunger strike at the Ramlila Ground protests on 4 June 2011. He sang various patriotic songs to the gathered protestors and claimed that he had ceased filming for a month in order to join the protest.[19] In August of that year he was involved in protests surrounding the arrest of Anna Hazare, of whose popular anti-corruption movement he approved. Tiwari is contesting the 2014 Indian general election in the North East Delhi constituency as a BJP candidate.

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor joined Anupam Kher in campaigning for Kirron Kher, who is BJP’s candidate. Talking to media persons, Anil Kapoor said, “Kirron will be a class apart from other politicians who don’t keep their words. I am here to support Kirron, not a party. I have not come to the city on anybody’s invitation to support her, but as a friend.” Kirron is pitted against another celebrity candidate in the constituency, Gul Panag, who is contesting on Aam Aadmi Party’s seat and former Railway Minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal, a Congress candidate.

2. Salman khan

After all his praise for the PM candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bollywood superstar Salman Khan now set a condition for Narendra Modi for campaigning for the latter’s party. During an interview with a TV news channel, Salman Khan claimed that he is ready to campaign for Narendra Modi in upcoming Lok Sabha election if he is asked to and if Narendra Modi does good work for the people of the country. The star also stated that he was shocked to see the hype in media over his meeting with Gujarat CM. Salman asked when his colleagues from Bollywood — Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan can meet Modi, then why can’t he. Salman Khan ready to campaign for BJP if Narendra Modi does good work for people “Is it because I am Muslim?” asked Salman while adding that Modi need not apologise for Gujarat riots 2002. He said that the BJP leader should not apologise for the communal violence since the judiciary has already exonerated him. The actor, who played it safe in Ahmedabad when asked about his preference as the future prime minister of India, stuck to his position during the interview. When asked about endorsing Modi, Khan said he is not in favour of letting his view influence his fans’ judgment. Salman recently met Modi at a kite-flying ceremony in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Salman also said thathis recent experience of flying kites with the Gujarat chief minister was a fun-filled one.
