1. Karz

Rishi Kapoor as Monty in this Subhash Ghai movie is simply amazing. He plays a musician who is haunted by images from his past life and is absolutely brilliant enacting them.  Even to date, Monty in Karz is considered to be among the most incredible roles in Hindi cinema.  The movie is a classic today and has been the inspiration for many movies, most notably, Om Shanti Om (Shahrukh starrer).  When Himesh Reshammiya tried to recreate the magic of that role in the remake, Karzzzz, the movie flopped very badly…only reasserting the fact that there can only be one Monty and that is Rishi Kapoor!  With Tina Munim playing his lady love Tina, the movie was an edge of the seat thriller with emotional drama, romantic songs and of course, Rishi Kapoor’s inimitable dance steps.  The chart buster number,  “Om shanti om” with Rishi Kapoor in silver colored attire grooving on the revolving disc became a huge hit.  Who can replicate the ease with which Rishi Kapoor waltzed his way into our hearts!  A must watch…nothing to beat the original…Go for it…an all time Rishi Kapoor best!

Romancing heroines like Dimple Kapadia, Neetu Singh, Sridevi, Padmini Kolhapure and Juhi Chawla, Rishi Kapoor indeed established himself as the evergreen romantic hero.  Re-inventing himself with time and age he has made his mark in almost every genre of Hindi films.  We can only hope that he continues to entertain us in many movies more!
